History

Date of Birth: April 17th, 1975
Home: Songjiang, Shanghai, China
Family: Ting Bo and Min (parents), Mei (older sister)
Second Breath: Personal Tragedy (stable middle class family in Shanghai suburbs; even as a child, she had a flair for the dramatic; she went to university for communications and became a media consult for a local telecom provider and dedicated herself to work, to excelling and climbing the corporate ladder; none of her ambition or wealth saved her from being murdered for the contents of her purse one night on her way home; the muggers were shot dead by the police but she bled out from the stab wounds; her dead soul awakened in the Hell of the Unholy Dragon, tormented there for her service as a propagandist, and her torment took the form of repeated brutal deaths at the hands of enraged citizens; she finally managed to escape Yomi during a particularly riotous commotion surrounding an even worse soul's torture), 2003
Mentor: Lin Chao
The Test: Trial by Knowledge (she crawled her way back along the Scarlet Path and returned to her body, where a Thrashing Dragon jina for the Flesh Court often awaited potential Urns; the chih-meh Xue was subdued and restored, and she began her Road Back under her jina savior's guidance after learning the basics of unlife and given time to figure out what she wanted out of existence; Lin-sifu considered her first name to be a good omen)
Comrades: Ren Hu, Arun Markendeya, Meiyou Ziwo
Key Event #1: Awe & Wonder (inducted in the beginning to the Flesh Court, Xue knew she above all yearned for a life free from the "rat race" demands of her mortal corporate career; though attuned to Yang, ghosts of the dead judged her unworthy simply for returning as Wan Kuei, and frequently harried her nightly routine with poltergeist-like activities)
Transition: Reassignment (unfortunately, her media skills made her a useful asset to a Great Step Outward Wu sent to a small Midwestern American city, so her mortal life seemed to be coming back to haunt her, too, and she found solace only with her Wu-mates and friends, whom at the very least she hoped might help her quell the angry ghosts harassing her)

The P’o

Appearance: Xue's P'o manifests as a dark reflection of herself, misremembering her mortal life with a distorted self-view as a cruel and manipulative woman who only cared about her own wealth and gratification. She was no saint when alive, but neither was she that venal. Her P'o would have her believe otherwise.
Trigger: Whenever the chance to make gains through negotiation or fast-talk appears.

Significant Other

Name: Ren Hu, 2005; Meiyou Ziwo, 2006
Nature: Romantic; Companionship

Ziwo

Weakness
As the Wind Blows

Xue begins her Ré with a great deal of uncertainty, and as such, she allows external forces, particularly her Wu, to guide not only her Road Back but her very lifestyle more than she should. Even a pliant disciple needs to be self-assertive!

Likelihood of Corruption

Average.

Xue has a good heart and good intentions, but the Demon cannot be easily denied, and temptation is all around her.
