Ren "The Fox" Hu

Second Eye of Typhoon
Disciple of the Court of Blood
Magistrate-Subverting Dragon of the Whispering Typhoon

Description

~Here comes Ren Hu to dismiss the stereotype of Oriental businessmen as nerdy little geeks who only get laid because their marriages are arranged. This handsome young turk typically wears a crisp three-piece suit custom-fit for his average dimensions. Hu maintains the professional veneer with a conservative haircut, too. The man's black hair is kept trimmed down and swept back. When Hu speaks, it's with a precise tone that observes whatever idiosyncracies and social expectations of his cultural subject. His gait is energetic and his expression vibrant. Bright and ambitious brown eyes look upon the scenery with a boundless and inexplicable hunger. Whether he's here for business or pleasure, it's clear that Hu is excited to just be here.~

OOC: Appearance 3; Perfect Protocol

(Demon Form) ~Gone is the human guise of this Gui Ren. Instead is the voracious monster his vibrant and lively humanity hides. He springs to a lean and muscle-bound height of ten feet tall. Hu's human clothing vanishes and while no attire now covers his sickly yellow hide, thick and coarse hair grows all over. Inscribed into his skin, partially obscured by the profuse hair, are strange tattoos. They are inked in black and much of his body with strange writing that seems indecipherable. Even trying to read them cues the reader only into their hellish origin and the threat to the curious eye's sanity. But that is perhaps the only intellectual element about Hu's ogre-like demon form. His cheeks broaden to encompass a garishly grinning maw of sharpened teeth and widened, red-rimmed eyes that display only his insatiable lust for Chi. His ears are pointed and widen to take up much of that side of his round head. Drool and slather drip from his mouth. Most disturbingly, his bloodshot gaze regards everything as a potential meal. Absolutely everything.~

History

First Breath

Ren Hu was born in Beijing back in 1965, while the Cultural Revolution was blazing through. The youth was not afraid to study, however. He pursued academic courses avidly and proved intelligent enough to put through further schooling when he was an adult. And it seemed that with his math skills and winsome personality a business program was the best bet for Hu. He left his parents behind to go and study at the University of Beijing for a few years.

When he graduated in 1987, he was at top of the class. The Beijing branch of the Jin Zhangpeng Corporation hired the young turk. He shrewdly pursued a variety of business opportunities for multiple facets of the mega-corporation. Entitled simply as a "corporate officer", he persuaded other businessmen and government officials alike to accept, aid, or ignore the JZ's activities and goals. Through dinners and special functions, he became a frontline man for the corporation's entrepreneurial efforts.

The Sin

And while Ren Hu had mostly disconnected from his family, he was living the high life. His social life didn't suffer. He had plenty of friends and a plethora of interested bachelorettes. That was why the outcome of a special task his corporation assigned him shocked him so much. It fell to him to basically seduce and pleasure a government censor's wife. Through her, the company figured they could get the official to cooperate and permit their somewhat sexually explicit tobacco advertisements to fly in China.

Unfortunately, Ren Hu was able to convince the lady to return to a hotel with him. They got as far as undressed before she got cold feet, remembered her husband, and told Hu to stop. But lost in the moment, Hu didn't stop. He took her that night despite her begs and pleads. When the night was over, Ren Hu realized the empty pit in his belly was due to the fact that he just raped this poor woman. He didn't have the heart to resist her flight. She escaped and notified the authorities. Hu was arrested, charged with conspiracy and rape, tried, and sentenced to a harsh sentence indeed: life imprisonment. But he didn't last six months in that dark jail. The other inmates made short work of a rapist among them, and he was beaten to death in full view of prison guards.

The Hell of Eternal Castration

Ren Hu's final cries fell on unheeding ears. His spirits departed his body, even as it was cast into a shallow grave in the prison's mass cemetery. His P'o descended straight down to Yomi where a sinner like him belonged. He remembers little of the journey, as there was too much pain. He just remembers the destination: the horrible Hell of Eternal Castration, where Heaven sentences most rapists and sexual abusers.

There he suffered many torments. Some of those tortures earned the Hell its name well, and Hu was removed of himself in a variety of agonizing and humiliating ways. But it wasn't just him being turned into a eunuch everyday. Sometimes the forced intimacy he visited upon that lady in life was returned to him here in Hell. A grotesque demon-hag became his regular bed partner, forcing him to pleasure her warty flesh and plump, flaccid body in every imaginable way. For months or years, Hu hardly knows which, he endured these agonies and humiliations.

His opportunity to escape came only when there was a genuine shift in his perceptions. In short, Hu started to like it all. The castration, the rape, the torments began to excite him! The hag took him from the normal torture fields to the Hell's harem of sick freak souls who enjoy that sort of thing. Here there was looser security. Though his P'o genuinely enjoyed all the perversions, he hated being kept as a slave just as much. When the first chance for him to flee came, Hu raced away onto the Scarlet Path and leapt back into his corpse.

The Second Breath

With great effort of will and fear and fury, his souls refused into his dead body. Ren Hu tore himself out of the earth in 1993. As a flesh-hungry chih-mei, he fell immediately upon a passing garbage detail. Two prison guards and one inmate were subdued, slaughtered, and devoured by the feverishly starving ogre of a beast. Fortunately, the Blood Court's Celestial Devils kept an eye on the punitive system. They sent one of their best harvesters to subdue and collect the newcomer.

There in the Blood Court of Beijing, Ren Hu was awakened from his Hell-maddened state of mindlessness. He began the Ré under the guidance of a Thrashing Dragon. For Hu considered the Dharmic choices and felt he leaned the most towards that path. He felt within his Hun that he needed to repent by both riding and controlling his base desires. Meanwhile, his P'o lusted for a path that eschewed denial and enjoyed pleasures of all sorts. His sifu, Tang Lo, made sure that his auspicious inclinations were balanced with a variety of training methods.

So Hu studied the more subdued form of tai ch'i chuan in order to counter-balance drinking binges and wild orgies. Because the Blood Court was northerly faced, and contained many strict and dogmatic Resplendent Cranes, his Dharmic instruction did not run as amuck as it might have in Southeast Asia or even Hong Kong. Indeed, Ren Hu picked up many of the pieces he left when he was mortal. He once more became a subverter of design, but put his talents to use for the Wan Kuei instead of corporate life. That was how he learned of the Ten Seasons sect. Not long after Hu experienced his first homosexual contact in an orgy, and had his first Auspicious Occasion as a result, his master presented the concept of the Garden to him. His master mentioned its ways to the young Gui Ren as a way to channel his machinations and political skills in the future. But he would have to prove himself first before he could learn more of those secrets.

Kôa

And first he had to prove he was a member of Kuei-jin society. After his five-year Ré period concluded, the mandarins administered a test. To pass, he simply had to recite the Fivefold Way, a brief litany of the Hungry Dead's glorious yet sordid history, and demonstrate some of the training methods Tang Lo imparted. He showed the court mandarins that he could meditate, execute martial arts forms, and channel his Chi in creative and functional manners. Hu had to take his martial arts training to a sparring match, in which he succeeded to the mandarins' satisfaction. Finally, he had to answer one last riddle his mentor presented him: where did the sun go at night? Of course, it was a trick question. He needed only to answer with what science knew. Having no other idea without going too philosophical, that's just how he answered. Luckily, that was the right reply.

For the next few years, Ren Hu was able to enjoy his new life without a jina constantly breathing down his neck. He was enjoying his Kôa, a Running Monkey indeed. The Dragon decided to continue honing his social skills of subversion, seduction, and persuasion. That way, one night he too could be a Gardener of the Ten Seasons. In the mean time, Hu saw many more seasons. His degree of enlightenment fluctuated as it was apt to do, but there was little dramatic impact in his life so far. There were no major battles (thankfully, for he was no warrior), nor major challenges in his department of ability. Though his skills earned him the courtly nickname of "The Scarlet Fox" or just "The Fox", there was so much more he wanted.

Finally, Ren Hu decided he needed a change of venue. He requested this from the court through Tang Lo's recommendation. And the Great Step Outward became his possible salvation. With the Blood Court's permission, Ren Hu left the Middle Kingdom. He traveled west to America and ultimately Centropolis, as appointed. There he joined his first Wu, the Whispering Typhoon, and set his designs for his first Garden to be here in this humble little Chinatown, in this humble little city, in this humble little state and country.

The P'o

Ren Hu's darkest desires were always repressed when he was alive. After the Second Breath, however, those sordid passions came to the forefront. With his P'o championing his darker perversions, Ren Hu must wage a constant battle of balance between his lusts and his Demon's wants. As a mortal, he indulged only once in a perversion -- when he raped that poor woman -- and it cost him his life. There's no Third Breath. So Hu fights against the Demon's gleeful lusts as much as he can, but the freakish voice in his head constantly points out how others have no problem indulging in their whims. Why can't he? Why shouldn't he? It's going to be a long, uphill battle. But hey! If it's not steep, it's not a mountain.

Significant Other

Ren Hu met Ting Xue in the Highroad Teahouse of Centropolis' Chinatown in September of 2005. At first, neither Magistrate-Subverting Dragon realized that the other was Gui Ren. They ended up seducing each other for the purpose of feasting on Chi. When they discovered their true natures, however, their real relationship began. Hu, as the older Disciple, gladly replaced Xue's fallen sifu in order to bring her up to speed in her training and studies of her Dharmic path. Of course, that invariably means a sexual relationship. But Hu began to dig for more than that by posing intriguing philosophical dilemmas and opening stimulating conversations. After all, he's going to apply to the Ten Seasons. What better way to practice Gardening than on one's very own perennial blossom?

Xue

Weakness
The Scarlet Fox

Ren Hu prides himself on his clever machinations, on the building and "growing" of his social Gardens. Despite all his machinations, his Yang-charged voracious hunger will inevitably define his goals. The curse of all Gui Ren will define and ultimately ruin his plans. Of course, that won't destroy him. But every loss will take another chunk out of his self-assurance and hope to achieve enlightenment.

Likelihood of Corruption

High.

His relative youth and lust will bring him closer to all forms of corruption, within and without. The Dragon must temper himself further or risk ultimate degradation.
