History

Date of Birth: May 13th, 1201 BCE
Home: Troy, Troada, Anatolia
Family: Briseus and Ainippe Thanasi (parents), Nisos (older brother), Pheidon (older brother), Linos (older brother)
First Death: Personal Tragedy (a priestess of Poseidon in ancient Troy, during the Trojan War she witnessed her entire family killed by the Myrmidons and Achilles captured her; after the war ended and even Achilles lay dead, she was passed by King Agamemnon to the surviving Myrmidon warlord as a trophy, even though Achilles had wooed her and they had fallen in love and ultimately he freed her from slavery; so, upon this re-enslavement, she used her priestly lore to enact a Persephonic ritual to call the dark goddess and escape to the Shadowlands, hoping to find Achilles' ghost after he had appeared but he was now gone and she was now trapped in the land of the dead, her lifeforce quickly withering away), 1177 BCE
Mentor: Persephone
The Test: Trial by Knowledge (Persephone herself appeared before Briseis and hurried her to her private Far Shore realm where the essence of Spring kept Briseis from total dissolution, and there she granted the priestess the gift of rebirth as a reward for her courage and conviction in love)
Comrades: Dimitri Vasilis, Persephone
Key Event #1: Personal Tragedy (but when she rebirthed for the first time, the Greeks had abandoned Troy and burnt it to the ground, and she retreated into depressed seclusion)
Key Event #2: Awe & Wonder (the first sign of life was actually that of a hero in the same circumstance: Bellerophon, the great legend, came to the ruins of Troy in search of his grandson's grave, who perished in its defense; Briseis helped him find the slain warrior's remains, and over the course of the funeral days, the pair fell in love)
Key Event #3: Awe & Wonder (though they were now tightknit romantic companions, Bellerophon cycled through lives completing self-appointed quests, winning battles, and seeking divine justice; she spent much of that time in quiet sorrow for the loss of the innocent world she knew, developing her arts and skills and studying the universe)
Key Event #4: Awe & Wonder (she did not pursue crusades of any sort, but she did care for the Restless Dead, protecting and helping resolve Fetters and Transcend as a Persephonic calling, even those total strangers: she came to them as a white light, known as the Miracle on the Other Side)
Key Event #5: Awe & Wonder (over all the long millennia, Briseis avoided open conflict, but in the modern era she finally chose an object as the time had at last come: women's rights, and she urged Bellerophon/Dimitri to aid her in this endeavor, and he heartily agreed)
Transition: Reassignment (sensing opportunity to really push women's rights in the New World, she urged Bellerophon/Dimitri to join her; while dead, her spirits aided the Restless find peace; while living, she directly aided mortal women in overcoming the worst travesties of chauvinism)

Weakness
The Prize

For too long, Briseis dwelled in a world where people like her were treated as nothing but a prize to be won. She has only started to resist this in the past century and ironically her key support is a hero who, though he deeply loves her, treats her as a subordinate in some sense.

Likelihood of Corruption

Very low.

Briseis is one of the few truly bright souls in this world of darkness. (Indeed, it has cost her dearly on more than one occasion.) She will not be corrupted.
